Medical Advisor
Dr. Barbieri a world-renowned dermatologist and acne researcher, with over 200 published academic research papers. He is the Founder and Director of the Advanced Acne Therapeutics Clinic at Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he practices as a Board-certified dermatologist, and an Assistant Professor at Harvard University. Dr. Barbieri received his medical training at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and his MBA from the Wharton School.
Dr. Barbieri is also a leading member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the founder of its iPledge Workgroup, aiming to drive reform that lowers access barriers to care. He is working with Honeydew to implement best-practice clinical protocols and to conduct academic research to share our outcomes and learnings with the world.

David suffered from acne and experienced the challenges with getting treatment firsthand. He partnered with his dermatologist growing up, Dr. Joel Spitz, to build a better way.

Dr. Spitz is a nationally respected, board-certified dermatologist with 30+ years of practice. He is widely experienced with different skin types and acne severities. His medical guidance is used to train thousands of dermatologists across the country through his textbook, Genodermatoses.
Dr. Spitz has been passionate about telemedicine since 2009, when the first study ever came out showing it was medically effective.
Clearing acne is what we do. We’re on a mission to make acne care more effective and accessible to everyone, so you never have to worry about putting off your skin care.
We use an evidence-based approach and track progress with photos and patient-reported outcomes.
